Implants: a solution for almost every situation

We often only become aware of the value of a natural tooth once we have lost it. The reasons for tooth loss are varied. Anyone who loses teeth naturally wants a good replacement.

In almost every situation, implantology offers a flexible, gentle, reliable and aesthetically sophisticated solution for fixed dentures. Implants are a firm part of the treatment spectrum at our dental practice at Frankfurter Bogen.

Relaxed patient after treatment

Implants at Frankfurter Bogen: without fear and without stress

The dentists and implantologists of our specialist practice for implantology are well aware that pain – or even just the fear of it – can often be a considerable problem. As caring practitioners we see it as our duty to accompany you safely through your dental restoration.

As a specialist practice for implantology with more than 20 years of experience, we can offer every form of anaesthesia and intraoperative monitoring. We are supported by specialists in anaesthesia who carry out all forms of anaesthesia – including in difficult cases – with state-of-the-art equipment.

Surgery and prosthetics under one roof

The training and experience of the dentist and the implant systems used play a particular role in achieving the best possible result of an implantation as well as rapid healing without complications.

In our practice at Frankfurter Bogen we use exclusively implant systems whose biocompatibility is documented in scientific studies. For a successful implantological solution, the implant not only has to be optimally anchored in the bone; individual dentures tailored precisely to the patient also have to be manufactured and fitted.

Fixed, implant-supported dentures

You will not notice that they are not your own teeth

We offer implantology from a single source: at our practice at Frankfurter Bogen, implants are successfully placed and also restored prosthetically. The challenge in aesthetic implantology lies in integrating individual teeth into an otherwise intact, natural environment. We place implants exactly where the prosthetic planning requires them.

Our many years of experience in implant surgery and prosthetics together with the use of modern technology enable us to offer patients fixed, implant-supported dentures in almost all situations – including after a longer period without teeth or where the available bone is limited.

If individual teeth are missing, we can close the gaps with implant-supported teeth. The healthy neighbouring teeth are spared, as they do not have to be ground down.

The most important points at a glance

  • An implant replaces the tooth root and carries a crown, bridge or denture – fixed in place and without grinding down the neighbouring teeth.
  • Surgery and prosthetics take place under one roof here; the dental laboratory is attached to the practice.
  • Every procedure is preceded by three-dimensional diagnostics (CBCT), on the basis of which the implant position is planned digitally.
  • On request we treat under local anaesthetic, in twilight sedation or under general anaesthesia.
  • How long an implant lasts depends largely on oral hygiene and regular follow-up care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does placing an implant hurt?
The procedure itself is carried out under local anaesthetic and is painless. On request we can also treat you under sedation or general anaesthetic. Slight swelling can occur afterwards; we discuss with you in advance what to bear in mind during the first few days.
How long will it take before I have my new teeth?
That depends on the findings. After the implant has been placed, the bone usually needs several months to fuse firmly with it. During this time you receive a temporary restoration. In suitable cases immediate restoration is also possible – we clarify this during planning.
Am I too old for an implant?
There is no upper age limit. What counts is your general state of health, the bone situation and your oral hygiene. In young people, on the other hand, we wait until jaw growth is complete.
What happens if there is not enough bone?
In many cases the bone can then be built up – with your own bone, with bone substitute material or with a combination of both. You will find more on this on our page about bone grafting.
How do I look after an implant?
Just like your own tooth – thoroughly and every day, including the spaces between the teeth. We also recommend regular check-ups and prophylaxis appointments. Inflammation around an implant often goes unnoticed at first and responds well to treatment when detected early.
Does the health insurance cover the costs?
Statutory health insurers contribute to the prosthetic restoration on the implant within the scope of standard care, but not to the implant itself. Private insurers and supplementary policies pay differing amounts. You receive a written treatment and cost plan from us in advance.
